Stainless Steel Alloy Type 420 is known for its surgical steel property and frequently used as high-carbon martensitic stainless steel. It has similar characters to Type 410, but shows more strength and hardness. It can be hardened with heat treatment, bringing excellent ductility for metal fabricators and polishability.
It resistance protects against fresh water, air, foods, crude oil, alkalis, gasoline, and mild acids corrosion. The alloy is quite strong and is difficult to weld in its annealed condition.
All of the Type 420 supplied by Special Alloys to our customers meets the industry’s toughest standards.
